                                            JARED ROGERSON

Rocky Mountains and bucking broncs are defining characteristics of Jared Rogerson and his music. Ironically, it was a rodeo injury in 2007 that spurred Jared into taking his music more seriously. "I remember pulling myself up off the arena dirt and thinking, it’s time.

Jared has written songs from a young age, but his pursuit of rodeo and education has been in the forefront. Jared had his first “rodeo wreck” at the age of 3 that left him with a broken arm. “My dad pretended to be the bull and I was the cowboy, I just couldn’t get him covered." Years later, Jared competed on the high school rodeo team riding bareback broncs. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree with the support of an academic and a rodeo scholarship. Jared competed at the College National Finals Rodeo and continued at a professional level while earning a Master’s degree in Biology. His college education has since provided the opportunity to enjoy more time traversing the rugged backcountry for both work and pleasure.

With seventeen years of riding bareback broncs under his belt, thousands of miles on horseback in the mountains behind him, and a diverse college background, Jared is outfitted to deliver cowboy music with refreshing originality to both traditional and new audiences. In February 2010 he independently released his first CD entitled ’Bad Hay’ recorded at his home in Pinedale, Wyoming. Bad Hay is now being aired on western music stations throughout the country and features songs like Ridin’ Wild Ponies, I Can Fly, and Glad I Took This Ride. "We all have experiences from time to time that put the big picture back in perspective. That’s happened for me every time I’ve stepped down on a bronc or climbed up on a horse to ride into the mountains- I love it!"

Jared’s goal oriented, I-can-do-it attitude is now diverted from riding bucking horses to writing songs. He is already making preparations for production of his second CD and hopes to release it in early 2011. "I try hard to make decisions based on the positive adventures I see connected to them. That’s where my music comes from."
